Pain Management in Plastic Surgery
There are several options to relieve postoperative pain after surgery. The treatment is prescribed by the anesthesiologist with a pain pump, a device delivering small quantities of pain medication such as Morphine or Baclofen, when this is delivered in small doses, pain medication may minimize the side effects often experienced with larger oral doses of the same medications and finally decrease the sensation of pain in your recovery process.
Lymphatic massages after plastic surgery
Patients will experience swelling, bruising, and discomfort in the days following liposuction surgery. This is understandable given that liposuction is a relatively invasive procedure. Liposuction commonly involves either injecting a large amount of medicated fluid into the area or using ultrasonic vibration or laser to liquefy the fat before suctioning it out with a sharp-ended vacuum tube known as a ‘cannula’. Lymphatic drainage has the potential to free the tissues of inflammation; it facilitates and accelerates the elimination of liquids and aids in the recovery process. Typically, massages are combined with ultrasound, which helps to improve the metabolism of adipose tissue while also restoring microcirculation and having anti-edematous effects.
